Farmix fertilizers, produced by the National Agricultural development Company in the Sultanate of Oman, mainly contain free amino acids from an organic fish source. These amino acids consist of the “aliphatic, aromatic, basic, acidic, hydroxylic, sulfur, and amide” groups.
From the aliphatic group (such as alanine, glycine, isoleucine, leucine, proline, valine), these amino acids play an important role in building proteins in plants, photosynthesis, and help protect cells from damage. They also greatly assist in the growth of plants, whether root or leafy crops. Proline, found in Farmix fish fertilizer, plays a major role in resisting salinity, drought, and heat stress, whether high or low. Valine also increases the sugar content in crops such as corn and tomatoes.
The aromatic group also plays an important role in plants, not less important than the aliphatic group. From this group (phenylalanine, tyrosine, tryptophan), these amino acids provide plants with antioxidants and greatly help in the formation of secondary compounds that attract pollinators and protect plants from unwanted insect pests as a natural organic defence mechanism without any chemical pollution. This is the work of the amino acid tyrosine. This group contributes to the physical development of the plant embryo, giving rise to fruitfulness, and tryptophan is considered the backbone of alkaloid and auxin production and the unit of IAA production in plants. These secondary compounds contribute to fruitfulness and plant health.
The acidic group is of great importance as it works to bind mineral owns or chelate them, prevent their toxicity, facilitate their transport inside cells, absorb nitrogen, and convert it from inorganic to organic form. This group of amino acids can also store nitrogen and supply it to plants, increasing the availability of the essential nitrogen element in plant nutrition, leading to increased greenness. From this group (aspartic acid and glutamic acid).
The basic group, as its name suggests, has a fundamental role in plants, such as gene expression in plant cells, protein synthesis and function determination, and chelation of minerals such as zinc and copper ions. The role of this group is fundamental in plant growth, development, and response to stress. Among this group are (histidine, lysine, arginine). An example of histidine is that it plays a major role in enabling the activation of a type of protein that occurs in highly saline environments. It also inhibits bacterial wilt disease by activating signals in the plant; that is, it helps the plant resist salt stress with the presence of salinity in the water and resist bacterial wilt disease. This is what the Farmix fertilizer group produced by the National Agricultural Development Company has proven with high concentrations of Nitrogen that it is resistant to bacterial diseases.
Since there is an acidic group, there is a hydroxylic group. This group is distinguished by its vital role in many plant vital processes such as building and modifying proteins, building the cell wall, metabolic processes, and cell signals through phosphorylation. This expresses the health of the plant and its healthy growth and high efficiency in utilizing phosphorus. From this group (threonine, serine, tyrosine)
Sulfur-containning group There is no sulfur amino group in the exact sense of the term in the plant There is no natural amino acid that contains both groups NH2, SH, but this group is amino acids that contain the element sulfur and from this group (methionine, cysteine) This group is also considered a source of sulfur donors in the plant; methanonine is the main donor of the methyl group and phospholipids and activates the roots in the plant, and cysteine increases the speed of photosynthesis and activates the vital processes in the plant (destruction and construction).
The amidic group plays an important vital role in storing, transporting and distributing nitrogen and nitrogen is stored in the form of amide amino acids in which the percentage of nitrogen is higher than carbon, which are (asparagine and glutamate) and they are transported from the roots to the leaves and these amino acids are used as a raw material for the synthesis of nucleotides and chlorophyll, which gives the plant a healthy green color.
These are some of the features of Farmix Omani fertilizers, as they contain these amino acids in a free form from a fish source, making it a liquid fish fertilizer that is easily absorbed by plants and an instant fertilizer for the soil to combat soil salinity, water salinity, bacterial diseases, and plant exposure to heavy elements and pollutants from chemicals. This is what the National Agricultural Development Company aims for, to achieve a clean and safe environment free from any pollutants in soil and water, and to achieve environmental sustainability and food security. For a greener, cleaner and healthier environment 🙂 🌱
